Business Process Management (BPM)

The processes must be monitored and made as effective and efficient as possible. It is necessary to map the current situation ( AS IS ), identify problems and critical issues, redesign the desired process ( TO BE ) free of these critical issues and apply indicators that measure the effectiveness and efficiency of both. Objectives, times and costs are the main elements to consider. Open source software for process mapping may be used in the training course.

The BPR course is usually divided into theory and practice. The duration is agreed directly with the customer based on the degree of in-depth analysis you wish to achieve, as well as the delivery methods. During the course, both the theoretical and practical parts, participants are subjected to exercises taken from the company reality in which they operate.

Theory

The theory part provides the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to analyze a current process ( AS IS ), identify its critical issues, re-engineer the analyzed process after having resolved the problems encountered, thus arriving at a "new" process ( TO BE ).

Module 1

Process reengineering: reference scenario

  • Definition of process reengineering;
  • main characteristics of process reengineering;
  • why apply BPR;
  • main application problems of reengineering;
  • how to apply BPR

Module 2

General aspects of the BPR methodology

  • Phase 1: definition of the intervention;
  • Phase 2: diagnosis of critical issues and priorities;
  • Phase 3: process redesign

Module 3

Recommendations for the use of BPR methodology

  • Management of the BPR intervention;
  • Adaptation of the methodology.

Practice

The practical part sees the use of open source software that allows participants to map processes according to the international BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) standard.
At the end of each course, participants are given an evaluation form designed to determine their level of satisfaction.

Who is it aimed at?

To managers , managers, process owners and, more generally, to all those who intend to map and optimize company processes with a view to continuous improvement.
